Meet Our Team

  • Elizabeth Pakravan

    FOUNDER & DIRECTOR

    Eli is a Life and Corporate Coach with more than 25 years of empowering people of all ages to bring out the best of themselves in the work environment, personal life, and within the Higher Education system.

    Born in Paraguay, half Iranian/half Paraguayan, grew up in a rich multicultural environment and moved to the USA nine years ago. With a BA in journalism, artist, entrepreneur, and businesswoman. She sees herself as a “work in progress” where everything she learns and experiences must be used to help empower others. This project was born out of being a mother, colleague, teacher, and neighbor who profoundly cares about learning and providing the tools for everyone who comes across her path to succeed and be happy.

    In May 2019 - City of Albany, Oregon, Elizabeth received the City of Albany’s Human Relations Commission award, which recognizes an individual for excellence in equity, diversity, and inclusion.

  • Thiago Barrios

    ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT

    After serving as a volunteer for the past year and a half at the Baha ’i World Center in

    Israel, Thiago is coming back to immerse himself in helping the community, especially empowering the youth.

    His experience in working in a diverse multicultural environment, interacting with people from all walks of life and backgrounds, and his determination and joy to serve others with loving-kindness, patience, compassion, and empathy make Thiago a role model for the children and youth, we are planning to serve, at the same time that he will oversee the logistics and administrative portion of the execution of the program.

  • Lindsey Garza

    OPERATIONS AND BUSINESS MANAGER

    Lindsey was born and raised in the Texas panhandle and has lived in Amarillo for 26 years. Her family is of Mexican and Polish descent; she grew up in Mexican-American culture.

    She is a devoted wife, daughter, stepmother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and child of God. She has worked as a tax analyst for seven years. She has based her work on customer service and management, with her goal always being to work together to build up the Community while learning and growing as an individual.

  • Daniela Macias

    FAMILY SUPPORT SPECIALIST

    From Amarillo, Texas, Daniela is a devoted student majoring in Psychology. Currently in her final semester, Daniela is on the verge of graduating with her bachelor's degree in psychology. With her sights set on furthering her education, she is actively working on applying for a master's degree. Her passion for understanding the human mind is only matched by her love for teaching, having served as a teaching assistant. Daniela’s passion lies in becoming a diagnostician, using her knowledge and skills to help individuals understand and navigate their psychological well-being. With each step she takes, Daniela is carving her path toward making a lasting impact on the world.

    Her knowledge and insight will highly contribute to inspiring the members of the families we are aiming to serve.

Meet Our Board

  • Pamela Gallaway

    Pamela is a business owner and partner of EMTRAC LLC. With 25 years of experience managing, selling, and investing property. Pamela has worked in customer service and has volunteered in her Community for 30 years. With a Master of Social Work, business, and volunteer experience, she has diverse and broad exposure to working in different areas of the Community.

    Pamela loves to push up her sleeves and get to work with endeavors that make communities better for all. With extensive training in community building programs, she knows it takes dedication, consultation, reflection, meeting people where they are, and implementation to make measurable change.

    Pamela considers herself a friend to all; she is kind, thoughtful, culturally competent, and committed to making the world a better place for her grandchildren.

  • Alejandro Josue Barrios

    He was born and raised in Paraguay and is currently working as a Dentist with a Master's in Dentoalveolar surgery. Alejandro is also an entrepreneur, a business owner, and a partner of PYNUT. From high school, he began volunteering to empower Junior Youth groups in his neighborhood. Years later, he volunteered at the Louhelen Bahai school in Michigan-USA and the Bahai World Center in Haifa-Israel. All these experiences allowed him to learn from people from all walks of life, giving him an understanding of why it is critical to build Community for the sake of the well-being of every person on the planet.

    He sees the good in people and wants to serve the Community with all his energy and soul to those who need help to move forward in their lives, hoping to see them empowered and succeeding happily through their journey.

    Among his hobbies are hiking, enjoying nature, and spending time with friends.

  • Diana Landeros Retana

    Diana brings more than ten years of advocacy and knowledge about education.

    She recently graduated from Amarillo College and is pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Chicana and Chicano Studies; she is always ready to help others and guide them in the right direction.

    Diana is very supportive. She loves to network within the community and enjoys meeting new people. We see her as a resource connector for the individual, community, and institutions. She successfully created a group of almost 700 moms who have an online place to share community resources for their families and especially to empower women in Amarillo, Texas, and the surrounding areas.

  • Ellie Saadat

    Currently employed at the Arizona State University School of Social Work and serving as an adjunct instructor at the University of Denver, Ellie is actively involved in staff advocacy and professional development initiatives. As a member of the Staff Council, Ellie works to enhance the working climate at ASU by promoting professional development opportunities and fostering improved staff communication across various schools and departments. She is a member of the Women of Color Initiative with Watts College of Public Service and Community Solutions, which f ocuses on creating a safe and inclusive space for mutual respect for all individuals.

    Ellie received her bachelor's degree in Social Work from Texas Tech University. During her undergraduate years, Ellie interned at Project CHAMPS in Lubbock, TX, working with HIV-positive individuals. Her commitment to service extended to volunteering at a senior living facility and a community clinic in Lubbock. Driven by her passion for the LGBTQ+ community, Ellie pursued her master’s in Social Work at West Texas A&M University.

    During her graduate studies, she conducted research locally and internationally, specifically in Hong Kong, measuring the impacts of empathy through various simulations. Ellie's dedication to serving marginalized communities continued during her graduate practicum at a local agency in Amarillo, TX, where she worked with the HIV-positive population for over six years.

    Beyond her professional commitments, Ellie is a firm believer in the foundational education of children. As a current board member of the Phoenix Children's Chorus, she actively contributes to the organization's mission of nurturing young talents in the arts

Meet Our Collaborators

Adam Behrendt

Adam is an international citizen having lived and worked in Latin America for more than 25 years dedicating himself to supporting grassroots-based community development for marginalized communities for bilateral, multilateral, and non-governmental organizations, including the UK’s Department for International Development, Nur University, PACT, the World Bank and the EU.  He brings his experience in program development, social inclusion, transformative training, and education, and grant writing to the Martha Root Community Building Organization.

He has worked directly with indigenous peoples, migrants, and especially children and adolescents as he did while working with Save the Children and the Fundacion SEPA.  He currently works between Bolivia, South America, and Central Florida to build linkages and connections between communities in both places.  


Bianca Vasquez

Bianca was 16 years old when she arrived to the United States. After getting married she became a phlebotomist living in Dallas for more than a decade and raising three beautiful and amazing children. She was a facilitator on First Aid for Mental Health; leading also a parent group aiming to learn how to support their children in their learning process, and on the social and emotional health aspect.

Now, living in Amarillo as she always did, wants to give back to the community which is her passion. She loves to share the blessings that God showers upon her and her family.
